Engineers carrying out structural stability audit of industrial infrastructure

Structural Stability Audit & Residual Life Assessment

A structural stability audit is a comprehensive evaluation of the health, integrity, and load-bearing capacity of existing structures. RECPL conducts audits for factories, industrial plants, boiler houses, warehouses, bridges, and civil infrastructure to determine whether assets are safe for continued operation, require retrofitting, or have reached the end of serviceable life.

Our audit methodology combines visual inspection, non-destructive testing, material sampling, structural analysis, and code-based assessment to build an accurate picture of structural condition.

Every audit concludes with detailed reports covering findings, risk categorisation, compliance references, and actionable recommendations for repair, strengthening, monitoring, or retrofit.

Key services delivered under structural stability audit and residual life assessment

  • Structural stability audit for industrial buildings, factories, and plants
  • Residual life assessment of RCC and steel structures
  • Structural audit of boiler foundations and supporting structures
  • Condition assessment of wagon tippler foundations
  • Assessment of fire-damaged, corrosion-affected, or ageing structures
  • Load testing and proof load analysis
  • Concrete quality assessment using core testing, rebound hammer, and UPV
  • Reinforcement mapping and corrosion assessment

RECPL team carrying out third party inspection and statutory verification of industrial equipment

Third Party Inspection (TPI) of Lifting Tools, Tackles & Pressure Vessels

Third Party Inspection (TPI) is a statutory requirement under the Factory Act 1948 to ensure that lifting equipment, pressure vessels, and factory machinery are safe for operation. RECPL operates as a Competent Person under Sections 28, 29, 31 & Rule 3A of the Factory Act 1948, authorised to inspect, test, and certify the fitness of industrial equipment.

Our TPI scope covers lifting tools and tackles, pressure vessels, boilers, and related accessories at prescribed intervals mandated by statute and industry practice. Reports issued by RECPL are structured for acceptance by State Factory Inspectorates and Boiler Inspectorates across India.

Every assignment is executed through pre-inspection review, on-site visual examination, required NDT support, functional testing, documentation, and clear recommendations where repair, replacement, derating, or further monitoring is necessary.

How RECPL Executes Inspection & Certification

A structured inspection workflow that combines statutory review, field checks, testing, certification, and practical recommendations.

Step 1

Pre-Inspection Planning

Review equipment history, previous inspection reports, manufacturer specifications, and applicable codes and standards before site work begins.

Step 2

Visual Inspection

Detailed examination for wear, corrosion, deformation, leaks, misuse, and mechanical damage.

Step 3

Non-destructive testing such as UT, MPI, and DPT is carried out wherever required to detect internal or surface defects.

Step 4

Functional Testing

Load testing, hydrostatic or pneumatic pressure testing, and operational checks are performed as applicable to the equipment category.

Step 5

Documentation & Certification

Issue detailed inspection reports, test certificates, and statutory fitness documentation such as Form 8, Form 10, or Form 14 where applicable.

Step 6

Recommendations
